Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs

Reconstructed in the 15th c. on the site of a 12th c. edifice, the church, Flamboyant in style, attained its present form in the 17th c. To the south, a very fine Renaissance entrance after Philibert Delorme. 17th c. religious painting is well-represented, with the only large Parisian altarpiece that has remained in situ in spite of the Revolution and its turbulence : I’Assomption de la Vierge by Simon Vouet with stucco angels by J. Sarrazin. 18th c. organs, F.-H. Clicquot 1777, Gonzalez 1930 (5 keyboards, 58 stops) and case from the 17th c. registered as an historical monument.
