Église témoin de la prestigieuse abbaye fondée au VIe s. Le clocher porche de l’an mil, la nef romane, le chœur du XIIe s. et d’admirables chapiteaux font date dans l’histoire de l’architecture religieuse. La période baroque se révèle dans les vitraux du transept, les sculptures de Marsy, Girardon, Coustou et les tableaux de Verdier, La Hyre, Leclerc et Bertin. Peintures murales de Flandrin (XIXe s.). La chapelle Saint-Symphorien, décorée et aménagée en 1992 par P. Buraglio, est une réussite d’intégration de l’art contemporain dans les œuvres du passé. Grâce à un large mécénat, J.-M. Duthilleul et B. Ferré ont terminé une restauration qui inclut le réaménagement du chœur. Orgue Haerpfer-Hermann 1973 (4 claviers, 56 jeux).
This church bears witness to a prestigious abbey founded in the 6th c. The tower entrance dates from the year 1000 ; the Romanesque nave, the 12th c. choir and the admirable capitals have left their mark on the history of religious architecture. Mural paintings by Flandrin (19th c.). The Saint-Symphorien chapel, recently decorated by P. Buraglio, is an example of the successful integration of contemporary art in works of the past. Thanks to a generous sponsorship J.-M. Duthilleul and B. Ferré have just finished the first restoration including the reorganization of the choir.
